Climate Resilience and Energy transition Dialogue in Freetown, Sierra Leone

We are proud to say that CCG was invited to contribute to a panel at the Climate Resilience and Energy transition Dialogue in Freetown, Sierra Leone, with the theme ‘From Commitments to Actions’ driving the agenda. Our colleague Fynn Kiley represented us.

Fynn Kiley is first right.

The event was hosted by the Presidential Initiative on Climate Change Renewable Energy and Food Security, headed by Dr Kandeh YUMKELLA which brings together key stakeholders including ministers of state, development partners, utilities, regulators, and the private sector. Our colleagues Sustainable Energy for All (SEforALL) also attended the event as they had supplied technical support to the Green Growth Development Plan also launched there.

CCG was invited due to our long standing effort in the country to build energy modelling capacity in key national institutions including the Ministry of Energy and Ministry of Finance.

Our colleague Fynn Kiley was a member of the panel discussing ‘Planning for Long Term Energy Transition Investments’ where he emphasized the importance of building institutional capacity in the Ministry of Energy and Ministry of Finance, to be able to carry out iterative and robust modelling studies that can help drive investment strategies.

Co-panellists included the Minister of Mines and Minerals, Deputy Minister of Health, Chairman of the Distribution Authority, and the head of the APRA secretariat (Accelerated Partnership for Renewables in Africa).
