Join the first Energy Modelling Platform for India: EMP-I 2026! The EMP is coming to Panjab University, Chandigarh for a landmark 2-week intensive training on CLEWS — an open-source tool that helps analyse policy decisions regarding clean energy, agricultural modernization, and water competition. The Deadline for Applications is 20 January 2026 so very soon!
Panjab University, in collaboration with CCG, invites applications from researchers, postgraduate students, faculty members, energy planners, NGO practitioners, and government officials working in the field of energy systems, climate change, sustainability, resource and systems modelling, environmental science, economics, policy analysis, and related disciplines.
Applicants are invited to participate in an in-person capacity-building training programme focused on CLEWs (Climate, Land-Use, Energy and Water Systems), to be held at Panjab University, Chandigarh, India, from 9–20 February 2026.
The programme will provide in-depth, hands-on training through expert-led instruction and coaching, enabling participants to apply the CLEWs framework using country-relevant data. Training activities will include case-study development, group-based modelling exercises, and the preparation of policy-relevant analytical outputs.
The in-person programme will bring together India’s energy planning and modelling community to exchange data, methodologies, and applied experiences across climate, land, energy, and water systems, supporting evidence-based planning and decision-making aligned with national NDC objectives for sustainable development.
