Adam Hawkes is Professor of Energy Systems at Imperial College London. He is Editor-in-Chief of Elsevier’s Renewable and Sustainable Energy Transition journal. A Chartered Engineer, Prof Hawkes has more than 25 years’ experience of technical leadership and management in the field of energy systems design and modelling.
Adam has delivered a range of systems modelling projects including IDLES (EP/R045518/1), Sustainable Gas Pathways for Brazil (NE/N018656/1), and is currently Research Director in FCDO’s Climate Compatible Growth (GB-GOV-1-300125).
Prof Hawkes has a track record of high impact research and translation for a wide audience, in both energy systems and hydrogen spheres. He is author of some of the most highly cited articles in these fields and works with industry and governments to translate these outputs into action. Through these efforts Adam has become recognised as an authority on hydrogen integration in future energy systems.
