Dr Churchill Saoke is the Director of Strathmore Energy Research Centre and a Lecturer in the department of physics at the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT). He oversees several projects on research and consultancy including appropriate technology, policy formulation, tools for CO2 emission reduction, sustainable aviation fuels, and enhancement of the renewable energy curriculum. He is Chairman of the SOTENI- Kenya board, and founder of PU International.

He is a scientific author and a media commentator as well as a science columnist. Nationally he is a member of the Technical Working Group for the acceleration of development and deployment of SAF in Kenya. Internationally, he is as a member of the ICAO Aviation Carbon Calculator Support Group (ACCS) and the ICAO CAEP Fuel to Gas working group. He is a recipient of the Mandela fellow for young African leaders initiative (YALI) and initiative by the US president

Dr Saoke is actively engaged with CCG Kenya, where he plays a pivotal role in coordinating its activities across the country. He leads the team while collaborating with the CCG National Partnerships team on research efforts within the Kenya CCG Network. These initiatives aim to support researchers, influencers, and decision-makers in fostering resilient economic growth, aligned with the Government of Kenya’s commitment to evidence-based, inclusive, and low-emission development policies.

Dr Saoke holds a BSc, MSc and Doctor of Philosophy in Physics from JKUAT, and an MA in Diplomacy from the University of Nairobi.
