Dr. Romain Akpahou is a Renewable Energy Expert with a PhD in Sustainable Energy Technologies. He has over five years of experience in teaching, consulting, and renewable energy project development. His expertise spans energy modelling, climate resilience, policy, and transport decarbonization pathways analysis in developing countries. Romain integrates complex data systems to support energy transitions and has led projects on rural electrification and clean cooking. He has authored over eight peer-reviewed papers and developed knowledge tools for stakeholders. His work focuses on advancing climate resilience and sustainable energy solutions to support developing countries in mitigating climate change and fostering growth.
Currently, he is a research consultant at Climate Compatible Growth (CCG), developing a CLEWs model for affiliated countries under the Data-to-Deal framework. He assists in developing CLEWs and other sectoral models for target countries, supporting data collection, integration, validation, and analysis in line with the Data-to-Deal framework. Additionally, He ensures robust and actionable model outputs in collaboration with the lead expert consultant and the D2D lead.
