Climate Parliament

Sergio is Secretary-General of the Climate Parliament, bringing a global voice to the fight for renewable energy and climate justice. He draws on wide-ranging experience, from leading publications and international relations at the BBVA Foundation in Madrid to shaping human rights accountability in the Truth and Reconciliation Commission in Chile and applies it to building cross-party networks of legislators who drive climate ambition.

An accomplished Chilean author and scholar, he holds an MA and PhD in Spanish from Stanford University and teaches Latin American literature at Stanford’s Santiago Programme. His leadership extends beyond the halls of academia into action; he heads the Parliamentarians for Climate Finance initiative in partnership with UNIDO and supported by the Green Climate Fund, equipping legislators across sub-Saharan Africa with the knowledge, networks and political tools to unlock climate investment and scale clean energy systems  He also helped lay the groundwork for the Green Grids Initiative-One Sun One World One Grid as a strategic blueprint for building a global renewable energy network.
