Naomi is the lead of the data and modelling tools business line within CCG. Alongside this, Naomi is currently completing her PhD focusing on the ‘Data-to-Deal’ analytical workflow.  This is a conceptualized framework for linking multiple open-source and open-access tools together from start to end. Tonny is a PhD researcher at Oxford University’s Smith School of Enterprise and Environment. He studies sustainable pathways for delivering affordable clean energy in low-income countries. Specifically, this involves investigating how different innovative approaches in business models and policies can accelerate the diffusion of renewable energy technologies and achieve multiple development goals. Cath Ibbotson is the Programme Manager for Oxford Net Zero and is responsible for the day-to-day management of the initiative. Cath is a Chartered Engineer and comes to the University from industry where she has 15 years’ experience in the development of commercial-scale onshore wind farms. Her most recent role was as Director of a specialist independent development company, working with multi-national joint venture partners to deliver onshore wind energy projects throughout the UK. Mathias is a research assistant in Climate Compatible Growth at the Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment. His research, which focuses on the role of public and blended finance for climate resilience and adaptation, forms part of CCG’s work stream on Economics and Policy (WS5). He also contributes to the Resilience and Development research theme at the Environmental Change Institute and holds additional affiliations with Oxford Net Zero and the Institute of New Economic Thinking (INET) at the Oxford Martin School. Roberto is a PhD candidate at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden, specializing in energy systems modelling and analysis. Roberto’s research focuses on energy system modelling,  integrating renewable energy sources, conventional power plants, storage systems, and demand-side management strategies. Roberto has engaged with CCG partner country Kenya to develop CLEWs models, among other projects in Goa (India), Indonesia, and Ecuador. Leonhard is a Research Fellow at the UCL Energy Institute and supports CCG's System Design activities. His research interest focuses on just transitions, as well as energy system modelling and its role in governing the transition to sustainable and equitable energy systems. [Read more]

Emma is a research assistant focusing on energy systems modelling. Her current work is on developing an interactive visualisation tool for the OSeMOSYS energy model. Following the 2050 Calculator concept, this will enable experts and non-experts alike to explore in real time a myriad of possible future energy pathways. Previously, she contributed to a variety of projects, including the OpTIMUS Community Summer Schools, Data-to-Deal and the Electricity Transition Playbook. Pietro Lubello is a Research Fellow at UCL Energy Institute, University College London, where he supports CCG’s System Design activities, mostly in Kenya. His research focus is on national and global energy models and the economic and social impacts of the energy transition. Pietro holds a PhD in energy system modelling from the University of Florence, Italy, where he worked on estimating the demand-side flexibility potential of the European residential sector.     [Read more]

Kane is a Research Assistant within the Centre for Environmental Policy at Imperial College London. He is the model curator for CLEWs within the Modelling Tools and Data Business Line. The main responsibility within his role is to lead the Climate, Land, Energy and Water Systems (CLEWs) modelling training at CCG’s capacity building events, which he has done since joining the team in 2022. Alongside this, his role entails development and enhancement of course material for CLEWs training.
